Pixel & Conversions API (CAPI): what is manual?
What runs automatically and what you enter yourself.
NorthSignal is included from Growth and requires a set-up connection and effective marketing consent. For existing Shopify installations NorthProfit uses confirmed order events from the server-side Shopify connection. No ScriptTag and no theme code to paste in manually is installed.
What runs automatically:
- Paid Shopify orders are prepared for the server-side sending queue after successful Shopify webhook processing.
- Sending status and errors are shown per advertising channel that is actually connected and released.
- Without a released target channel and effective consent no conversion event is sent to an advertising provider.
What you enter once:
- Meta: pixel ID and, optionally, the test event code from Meta Events Manager. Meta must also be connected as an advertising account.
- Google Ads: the conversion action ID of the import target. Google also needs Google Ads Connect and a customer ID.
- TikTok Ads: TikTok sign-in, advertiser selection, events pixel ID and Events API access. TikTok Ads is a separate connector and not the same as TikTok Shop.
Test events: Under Ads (“Werbung”) → Measurement (“Messung”) you can trigger a test send only for channels that are available, connected and fully configured. The Meta test event code makes a server event appear in Meta Events Manager under Test Events.
Once rolled out to production, the Shopify Web Pixel app extension adds consent-dependent browser events. Server-side and browser events use shared event IDs for deduplication; blockers, ad blockers or missing provider permissions can still limit measurement coverage.
