What NorthProfit calculates today for subscription products.
Recurring revenue per month and per year from the active subscriptions in your Recharge account.
Cancellations of the last 30 days (churn), average monthly revenue per subscription (ARPU) and the estimated customer value, each from Recharge.
MRR, ARR, ARPU, churn and customer value come from Recharge. You enter the API token (read access) of your Recharge account in NorthProfit; it is stored encrypted.
Shopify’s own subscriptions and subscriptions from other tools (for example Bold, Skio, Loop) are recognised from the order through your Shopify connection and show realised recurring revenue of the last 30 days. No MRR is derived from them.
Subscriptions sit next to your shop’s margin, advertising and returns.
Cohorts by month of first purchase show how much revenue new customers bring in the following months.
You do not need a second report next to your shop.
Connect your Shopify shop. NorthProfit reads orders and recognises subscriptions from them. The Shopify app is not yet published in the Shopify App Store; the release is pending. Existing installations keep working.
Enter the API token of your Recharge account (read access). Without Recharge there is no MRR.
MRR, ARR, ARPU, churn and customer value from Recharge appear in NorthProfit under Customers › Subscriptions.
The view is included from the Scale plan. NorthProfit calculates MRR, ARR, ARPU, churn and customer value only from Recharge; without Recharge they do not exist. NorthProfit does not read Shopify subscription contracts. For subscriptions that NorthProfit recognises from the order (including Shopify’s own), it shows realised recurring revenue of the last 30 days, calculated from the most recent orders (up to 500 from the last 90 days); NorthProfit does not derive an MRR from them. The customer value is estimated (ARPU divided by the monthly churn) and is missing as long as there are no cancellations.
Short, with the current status.
Connect your shop and Recharge and see MRR, churn and customer value next to your margin.
